Living in the northeast, I often hear barred owls in the early morning- "Whooooooo who Whooooooo!" 

Barred owls are amazing- they possess specialized feathers that allow them to fly silently. These owls  have a beautiful checkered pattern, as well as a a distinctive face- it kind of reminds me of an apple slice. If you look carefully, someone in the farmhouse is up, listening to calls.

My "Wolf and Cardinal" painting is a special moment in time between two animals in nature. I wanted to paint the wolf and cardinal as equally beautiful, but quite different. It captures the essence of each creature, conveying their unique characteristics, emotions, and the magic of the natural world they  inhabit.  It is special to me because it is one of the first paintings I made integrating wat

"Maple and the Peacock" is a true story! Maple is a gorgeous draft horse I have worked with at Green Chimneys, a school that offers horse therapy. They also have roaming peacocks that "rule the roost".  When I saw Maple staring at the peacock on the fence I knew it would make a perfect painting.
